Join the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) for an enduring webinar on the importance of annual vaccination to help prevent influenza (flu) and serious related complications in older adults and those with chronic health conditions. Discussion topics include updated influenza vaccination recommendations for US adults age 65 years and older, and strategies for healthcare professionals to effectively communicate vaccination recommendations.

NFID Medical Director William Schaffner, MD, moderates the discussion with Lisa Grohskopf, MD, MPH, Medical Officer, Epidemiology and Prevention Branch, Influenza Division, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Martha Gulati MD, MS, President, American Society for Preventive Cardiology.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe current influenza vaccination recommendations for all US adults, including those age 65 years and older
  • Discuss the burden of influenza in individuals with chronic health conditions, including serious related complications
  • Implement communication strategies to increase influenza vaccination rates among US adults
