Join the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) during National Liver Awareness Month for a webinar on the prevention of hepatitis B in US adults. Discussion topics will include current US recommendations for hepatitis B vaccination among adults, along with strategies for healthcare professionals to effectively communicate current recommendations. Speakers also address audience-submitted questions.

In this recorded webinar, NFID Medical Director William Schaffner, MD, moderates the discussion with Shyam Kottilil, MD, PhD, Director, Division of Clinical Care and Research, Institute of Human Virology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, and Captain Sarah Schillie, MD, MPH, MBA, US Public Health Service Team Lead, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the epidemiology of acute and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in the US
  • Describe current hepatitis B immunization recommendations for US adults
  • Implement strategies to increase hepatitis B vaccination rates in US adults
